Vision and Goals

To advance the transition to the bioeconomy through knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration in the Nordic region.

With a focus on the bioeconomy in an aquatic context, the Centre’s efforts concentrate on:
  • global food and nutrient security
  • increased resource efficiency, and
  • environmental, social, and economic sustainability.

This is done through close collaboration with both the private and public sectors.

  • To make significant contributions to food and nutrient security and efficient use of resources.
  • To enhance innovative technology and biorefinery solutions, aquatic production, profitability, and job creation.
  • To identify opportunities and mitigate barriers for commercialisation of new products, services, and processes.
  • To use social, economic, and environmental assessments to ensure proposed technology developments and biorefinery approaches are sustainable and add resilience to the industry.
